Accruent MC v2023.13 Release Notes

We're delivering this automatic upgrade on December 13, 2023, with the following highlights:

Grid view export: Easily configure and capture lists by exporting data directly from the Grid view
Grid view improvements: Use the Grid view to its full potential with our improvements to filter saving and inventory data accuracy
Type-ahead: Speed up your data input with the ability to choose from up to 10 partial matches as you begin entering a value into a type-ahead field

Export from Grid view

MC-14401, 14402, 14297

You can now export data to Excel or CSV directly from the Grid view in any module where the Grid view is present. Grid's versatility, combined with this export capability, offers an easy way to create lists from applicable modules and capture the data for all uses of Excel and CSV.

Type ahead

MC-14408

Type-ahead fields in MC now display up to 10 partial matches to choose from as you begin typing a value into the field, optimizing type-ahead functionality and making your data input faster and more accurate.

Login page and URL updates

As part of updating to Central Authentication v3 (CAV3) as a security enhancement, we split out the MC Express login page (now express.maintenanceconnection.com) from the Main Application (MRO) login page (now app.maintenanceconnection.com). The old URL (login.maintenanceconnection.com) prompts you to sign in to the new URLs, but please update bookmarks to the new URLs for ease-of-use.

These updates went live with the release of Accruent MC v2023.12 in November, 2023.

Order Parts	Using Order Parts to automatically build purchase orders for inventory that has reached it reorder point now properly converts issue units to order units, when the two are different. For example, Order Parts no longer issues an order for 50 cases (order unit) of a part when 50 individual parts (issue unit) are needed.	MC-12608
Session Manager	Users with proper access group rights can now use the Session Manager to end one of their live sessions, as intended (when they are running multiple sessions and all licenses are in use).	MC-14992
Technician Work Center	When a member's available application is set to the Technician Work Center (TWC), they can now sign into the Service Requester as well as TWC.	MC-14993
Transfer Inventory	Parts with an ID containing a pound sign (#) now transfer as intended via the Transfer Inventory feature. You can also now transfer inventory to a non-default bin using the tool, as intended.	MC-13889

Accruent MC v2023.12 Release Notes

We're delivering this automatic upgrade on November 15, 2023, with the following highlights:

Service Requester – Configure the Service Requester to let people add a failure classification to their requests, helping them indicate the reported problem more accurately so you can fix it quicker.
Service request status – Help people see the status of a service request they've submitted with the ability to search by work order number in the Service Requester.
Preventive maintenance – Set a default procedure for new PM records to automate the repetitive workflow of creating a new procedure for a new PM record

Add failure classification to service requests

You can now configure the Service Requester to include a failure classification. Failure Class selection determines which predefined asset problems people can add to their requests, allowing you to use your asset failure analysis processes to address the service request more efficiently.

Search for service requests by number

MC-13956

People can now search for service requests by their work order number on the Service Requester Status page, making it easier to find the status of a particular service request they've submitted.

Note that searches can only return exact work order number matches and they only appear if the user has access to view the request. Also, searching by work order number functions independently of any filters set on the Status page.

Configure default procedure for PMs

MC-14134

You can now select a procedure to add to new preventive maintenance records by default if no other procedure is associated with them. This default procedure populates to PMs automatically, removing the need to create a new procedure from scratch.

Export work order data from the Grid view

MC-13714

You can now export work order data to Excel or CSV directly from the Grid view. Grid's versatility, combined with this export capability, offers an easy way to create work orders lists and capture the data for all uses of Excel and CSV.

Match labor info to member signing in with SSO

MC-14158

When we update the MC login page in the near future, you can automatically update labor information in an instance of Maintenance Connection to match the identity provider for your single-sign on (SSO) solution. When a member signs in using SSO, their member name and email address in MC are updated to match that information in the identity provider. If you have configured labor records to update to match names and emails in the corresponding member record, labor names and emails automatically update when the user signs in with SSO.

If a member is associated with labor records in multiple instances of MC, labor updates (if enabled) only occur in the instance they have directly signed into.

Accruent MC v2023.10 Release Notes

We're delivering this automatic upgrade on September 27, 2023.

In this quality-of-life release we made three minor improvements, fixed five issues, and worked on major upcoming features.

Accruent MC v2023.9 Release Notes

We're delivering this automatic upgrade on August 30, 2023.

We're delivering this automatic upgrade on July 26, 2023, with the following highlights:

Meridian integration – View and annotate Meridian documents directly in MC, dramatically reducing time spent navigating between the two applications
External documents – New versioning and snapshotting immediately links the latest version of engineering documents to your assets and removes the hassle of connecting proper document versions with work orders
Accruent Observe integration – Combine the Accruent Observe IOT solution directly into the CMMS work-flow, ensuring first-time fixes and providing more technician visibility into asset sensor data
Work order reason translation – Default work order reasons now translate into non-English languages, ensuring the auto-generated reason is legible to technicians
Work order links in email – Technicians gain direct access to work orders they are assigned to via email notifications

View and annotate Meridian documents directly in MC

MC-10297

You can now view and annotate documents sourced in Meridian directly in applicable Attach pages, rather than having to navigate and sign in to Meridian to do so. To remove risk of document disagreement, we also disabled updating Meridian asset associations in MC to maintain Meridian as the single source of truth for all documents it sources. This keeps MC and Meridian in sync and ensures proper document versioning.

External document versioning and snapshotting

The Meridian integration with Maintenance Connection now supports document versioning and snapshotting, ensuring work order compliance with the appropriate binding documentation. These features apply to all externally-sourced documents in MC.

Accruent Observe integration market release

MC-11121, MC-10667, MC-11096

The integration with Accruent Observe is now available for purchase! The integration automatically creates work orders in Maintenance Connection to address alarms and flagged conditions in asset sensor data received from Accruent Observe. The asset sensor data also verifies whether work has been completed, allowing or preventing work order closure based on the data. You can also view the asset sensor data from Observe directly in Maintenance Connection in work orders created via the integration.

Translate default work order reasons

MC-12589

We created a new preference to translate default, auto-generated work order reasons into non-English languages. Default work order reasons generated for follow up work orders and meter readings outside of the acceptable range translate into the selected language on the work order.

Include link in emailed work order assignments

MC-12613

You can now include a link to a work order in emails sent via the Rules Manager, giving direct work order access to technicians who are notified via email of a work order assignment.

Login page updates

We are updating to Central Authentication v3 (CAV3) as a security enhancement, with the following changes:

We are splitting out the MC Express login page (express.maintenanceconnection.com) from the Main Application (MRO) login page (app.maintenanceconnection.com).

Coming soon: Audit History Manager

As an administrator, the upcoming Audit History Manager lets you manage which modules track audit history, giving you more control over auditing for compliance purposes. We are also adding an access group right to determine access to the tool.

API, Inventory	The PartDocuments API now works the same way as the Parts APIs and returns a total value indicating the number of records available in the table.
External Documents	You can no longer remove externally sourced documents (such as those sourced in Meridian via the MC-Meridian integration). Previously, removing documents in bulk via the Expanded List view allowed you to remove externally sourced documents.
Grid View, Preferences	You can now only enable/disable the Grid view in user preferences, not in repair center preferences. Searching "grid" when setting preferences for a repair center no longer returns any results.
Inventory, Bins	Stockroom parts no longer accept a single space for the Bin value, ensuring that all stockroom parts are in a bin.
Preventive Maintenance	Automatically adding assets to PM using asset defaults now properly associates the assets with the proper repair center, rather than always using the default repair center.
Purchase Order Approvals	Those without permission to approve work orders can no longer work around the access right by changing the purchase order sub-status.
Purchase Orders List, Grid View	You can now search by requester in the Purchase Orders List using the Grid view.
Rules Manager, Email Notifications	Rules set up to email recipients about a purchase order rejection now work as intended and no longer trigger a looping process in which emails are sent repeatedly.
Work Orders, Labor Costs	Bulk closing work orders in the Expanded List view now honors the preference to required actual labor costs, preventing closure if that value is not present.

Search by yes/no value in Grid view

You can now search by a yes or no value in boolean fields (such as Warranty? and Shutdown required?) in the Grid view. For example, in the Work Orders Grid view, you can display all the work order assets that are under warranty.

Updated messaging in alerts

We followed up the new look and feel for alerts by updating the messaging in them. Messages are now simpler, provide helpful instruction where applicable, and align with current industry best practices for alert messages.

New access group rights for purchase order sub-status

Permission to view and edit a purchase order sub-status is now determined by access group rights at Access Groups > Rights > Purchase Order Module > Fields. The six new rights are enabled by default.

External Documents	We created a GraphQL script that takes a snapshot of a third-party work order document upon either work order creation or issue. This ensures documents remain unchanged in relation to a work order once they are associated with it, for compliance purposes. Reach out to your Account Executive for more information. This is part of our development of a new system preference to configure version snapshotting in the user interface, and is especially applicable to future Meridian integration enhancements.
Grid View	We removed the Group by option in the Grid view because the feature was not applicable to Maintenance Connection's interface.
Task Images	You can now upload .jpeg (in addition to .jpg) files as work order task images.
Inventory, Procedures	Inventory > Locations and Procedures > Tasks now have frozen column headers when you scroll down the list of records.
Meridian Integration	As part of further development of the Meridian integration with Maintenance Connection (being released later this year), Meridian documents will no longer append to printed or emailed work orders. Previously, since accessing Meridian documents requires you to sign in, printed or emailed work orders would unhelpfully display a picture of the Meridian sign in screen.
Rest API	You can now GET, PUT, and POST external interfaces (ExternalInterfaceID and ExternalInterfaceName) through Rest API. This is part of future development allowing you to create connectors with external systems using the API, such as creating a work order in MC with data from an external system.
Work Order Groups	Updating the master work order now updates child work orders as well, regardless of their status. Previously, you could not roll child work orders backwards in status (from completed to issued, for example) by updating the master work order.

The integration with Accruent Observe automatically creates work orders in Maintenance Connection to address alarms and flagged conditions in telemetry data received from Accruent Observe. The telemetry data also verifies whether work has been completed, allowing or preventing work order closure based on the data. You can also view the telemetry data from Observe directly in Maintenance Connection in work orders created via the integration.

Accruent Observe integration

The integration with Accruent Observe automatically creates work orders in Maintenance Connection to address alarms and flagged conditions in telemetry data. You can also view the telemetry data from Observe directly in Maintenance Connection in work orders created via the integration.

New look and feel for alerts

We updated alert notifications to give them a more modern look and feel. The primary messaging in alerts has not changed.

Coming soon: Work order e-signatures

For 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, Maintenance Connection will support e-signatures on work orders to authenticate status changes.

As part of this development, we enabled work order history to show e-signatures for the work order.

MC v2023.2 Release Notes - February 8, 2023

Drag and drop from grid view

To match functionality in the legacy list view, you can now drag and drop records (primarily ID values) from the grid view List pane into the WorkCenter to populate fields. For example, you can drag and drop a project from the Projects list onto a work order record in the WorkCenter to populate the Project field.

Manage automatic translations in the Translation Manager

The new Translation Manager added in MC v2023.1 now lets you allow/disallow the system to automatically translate values for specific languages and areas in the application on its regular sync.

Grid View	The context menu and right-click menu in the grid view now disappear when you move your cursor away from them. This keeps the menus from blocking your view when you do not make a selection from them.
Grid View, Work Orders	You can now add the Supervisor column to the Work Orders list in the grid view.
Images	You can now attach images with periods in their file name to records without issue.
Labor Calendars, Work Manager	Labor calendars on the Work Manager no longer show hours from inactive labor records.
Legacy List View	Work order priority icons now display as intended in the legacy list view.
New Member Passwords	We added new messaging for when a new user’s password choice during the sign-up process does not meet complexity requirements. They are now prompted to enter a new password rather than being navigated to a generic error page.
Part Checkout	You can now use a plus sign (+) in the Part ID in the Part Checkout tool without issue.
Parts Lookup	The Search field and filters now work as expected with the new look and feel of the Parts module lookup.
Rotating Parts	Parts > Locations > Rotating Assets now displays all stock room records as intended when you set the Repair Center filter to All.
Type-Ahead Fields	Type-ahead fields now display matching names and IDs rather than just IDs, making it easier for you to locate records with the type-ahead feature.
Work Order History	You can now use line breaks in work order history comments without HTML code appearing in the saved comment.
Work Order Parts	Parts are now properly set to Reserved in their stock room when estimated parts are issued upon work order assignment.

Introducing the Translation Manager

The new Translation Manager tool (available in the Tools > System menu) lets you manage translations of global labels and user-entry data across your instance of Maintenance Connection. You can edit translations directly in the tool. In the next release, MC v2023.2, you will also be able to allow/disallow the system to automatically translate values on its regular sync.

Translation of user-entry data

We improved the user experience for non-English users by translating user-entry text in the Work Orders and Assets modules, such as non-English selections for lookup tables and module lookups.

Note that codes for lookup tables have not been translated, but the user-entry values that correspond to them have.

Right-click menu in grid view

To match functionality in the legacy list view and module lookups, we added the right-click option for the grid view, allowing you to open a menu when you right click on a record in a module list or module lookup.

Improvements and issues fixed

Component	Summary
MC Express, Work Orders	You can now create a work order in MC Express without the system automatically selecting check boxes (like Warranty and Attachments) in error.
MC Express, Work Order	All technicians with access to MC Express can now create work orders without issue. Previously, a Failures access group right was erroneously restricting some technicians from creating work orders.
Rules Manager	You can now successfully save changes made with the style editor in the Rules Manager without receiving an error message.
Technician Work Center	The New button now works as intended in the Technician Work Center, allowing you to create a new record within applicable modules.
Work Order Report	You can now successfully export the Work Order Report to PDF without any work order tasks being cut off the bottom of the page.
